Yes! I am back with new children’s book editing tips and the progress of my book. In my previous post regarding publishing my first children’s book, I gave you tips on why it was important to know your audience and age group.
In this post, I will focus on the editing aspect of writing this book.
You guys might not know that I am going to have “BENZO” in 8 different languages Yabba Dabba Doo!
Therefore, having my book edited by professionals is a plus.
Completed Manuscripts
As a self published author, please take the time to edit your books. I am proud to say that all of my children’s book translations were all completed by professors at my university.
That’s right folks. I have professionals in my corner that make this book a gem.
As a soon to be self published author, it was my duty to make sure that this book was error free from typographical and grammatical mistakes.
Microsoft Word and spell check is only the first line of defense. Please do yourself a favor and hire a professional.
There is nothing more frustrating than a book with lots of typos and bad sentence grammar.
Therefore, this video is only being used for informational purposes only.
Know Your Audience
When I was writing my children’s book, I knew that the tone and vocabulary choice of words had to be simple.
I knew that I my age group for my story had to be relatable.
Therefore, please do not use big words that your child is not old enough to spell.
This is why hiring a professional editor is so important. It is there job to make sure book makes sense and sounds good too.
This is probably my favorite children’s book tip to put in motion in the editing phase of my story.
